How BFG Quiet Admin Works

1. Install the plugin

1. Go to Plugins → Add New
2. Click Upload Plugin
3. Select the BFG Quiet Admin – Nag Filter ZIP file
4. Click Install Now and then Activate

2. Let it quietly clean up your admin

Once activated, BFG Quiet Admin scans admin notices on your dashboard and other backend screens.
Notices that match known promotional or review-request phrases are hidden, while normal error, warning, and update messages are left alone.

3. Temporarily show all notices (bypass mode)

If you ever need to see every notice again for debugging or curiosity, you can bypass the filter on any admin page by adding a query string:

?show_nags=1

Example:

https://your-site.com/wp-admin/plugins.php?show_nags=1

Reloading the page without ?show_nags=1 returns you to quiet mode.

4. Optional global off switch

If you want to keep the plugin installed but disable it completely (for example while testing something), you can add a constant to your wp-config.php file:

define( 'BFG_QUIET_ADMIN_DISABLE', true );

With this constant set to true, BFG Quiet Admin will not run at all, even if it is activated in the Plugins screen.

5. Optional: extend the keyword list (developer tip)

If there is a specific nag you want to target, you can add your own phrase to the keyword list using WordPress filters in a custom plugin or your theme:

Any admin notice containing your custom phrase will be hidden along with the defaults.
