What Product Category Report Does

Product Category Report reads your WooCommerce orders and generates a breakdown of sales
for a specific category (or set of categories). It is designed with apparel fundraisers
and similar projects in mind.

It can show you:

• Total quantity sold by style (for example: hoodie, tee, crewneck)
• Breakdowns by color by style
• Breakdowns by size for each style and color
• Totals that can be used for blank orders or production planning

The result is a report that tells you exactly what you need to order, instead of forcing you
to dig through individual orders and line items.

Why the Style Attribute Matters

The Style attribute is the foundation of this report.
It tells the plugin how to group products that share the same garment or product type.
Without it, the report cannot reliably roll up totals.

• Gildan 5000
• Bella+Canvas 3001
• Hoodie
• Crewneck
• Performance Tee

You can define Style in whatever way makes sense for your workflow.
The key is that every product in the fundraiser or category uses a Style value consistently.

How to Set Up the Style Attribute

1. Create the Style attribute

1. Go to Products → Attributes in your WordPress admin.
2. In the “Add new attribute” form, enter Style as the Name.
3. Set the slug if you wish (for example: style).
4. Click Add attribute.

Once created, click the Configure terms link for Style and add the values you need:
Hoodie, Tee, Crewneck, etc.

2. Assign a Style value to each product

For every product that you want included in the report:

1. Edit the product in WooCommerce.
2. Scroll down to the Product data panel.
3. Click the Attributes tab.
4. Choose Style from the attribute dropdown and click Add.
5. Select the correct Style value for that product (for example, Hoodie).
6. Make sure the Style value is saved with the product.
7. Click Update to save the product.

You can do this even if the product does not use variations.
A single Style value on the product is enough for the report to use.

3. Repeat for all products in your category

Any product without a Style value will not be grouped correctly and may be skipped.
For clean reports, assign Style to every product in the category you plan to report on.

How to Use Product Category Report

1. Install the plugin

1. Go to Plugins → Add New.
2. Click Upload Plugin.
3. Select the Product Category Report plugin ZIP file.
4. Click Install Now and then Activate.

2. Open the report screen

In your WordPress admin, go to the report menu entry installed by the plugin.
Depending on configuration, this may appear under:

• WooCommerce → Reports → Product Category Report
• or a similar menu created by the plugin.

3. Choose a category (or categories)

Select the product category you want to analyze. This might be a fundraiser category,
a specific event, or any group of products you use for a campaign.

4. Set your date range and filters

Choose the date range and any other filters the plugin provides (such as order status).
Then run the report.

5. Review the breakdown

The report will show totals grouped by Style, and, where available, broken down further by color and size.
You can use this to:

• Order blanks from your supplier
• Prepare production lists for printing or decoration
• Verify that your fundraiser or event has correct counts before placing orders
